Christmas Day Lunch
Bronze turkey, slow-roasted beef, a vegetarian wellington and all the trimmings, plus classic puddings and handmade chocolates.
Seasonal, locally sourced food, craft-filled afternoons and a team who take creativity, craft and community very seriously – and themselves much less so.
At The Blind Man's Arms we believe a village pub should taste like its surroundings: ingredients grown, reared and crafted within sight of our doorstep; beers and spirits brewed just down the lane; and menus that follow the seasons rather than the latest fad. Everything we do is rooted in three ideas – Creativity in the kitchen and behind the bar, Craft in the way we cook, pour and host, and Community in the way we share our space with local makers, growers and neighbours year-round.
December centres on two celebratory menus that showcase local farms, dairies and artisans: a relaxed but indulgent Christmas Day lunch, and a New Year's Eve banquet with paired drinks.
Bronze turkey, slow-roasted beef, a vegetarian wellington and all the trimmings, plus classic puddings and handmade chocolates.
A celebratory banquet with arrival cocktails, grazing platters, a choice of mains, decadent desserts and a midnight toast.
Throughout December we host craft workshops on Wednesdays and Saturdays, 3pm–6pm. Each session keeps within a maximum of £40 per person, including tuition, materials and a festive snack and soft drink.
From wreath-making and candle-pouring to chocolate crafting and woodland carving – there's something for everyone.
Our venue is open by special request, apart from Christmas Day and New Year's Eve when we're open from 7am until very, very late.
To request a special opening time, speak to Christopher The Blind using the voice assistant button in the corner of the screen.
The Blind Man's Arms is steered by a small but fiercely imaginative crew: Head Chef Christopher The Blind, who proves daily that you don't need eyes to have exceptional vision in the kitchen; Sherpa Shirl, our Creative Director, who guides guests through seasonal events, décor and community projects with the calm focus of someone who's led more than a few expeditions; and Simon Nutkin, Chief Mixology Officer, whose cocktail creations are part science experiment, part theatre and entirely drinkable. Together they keep one eye on local suppliers, one on warm hospitality, and at least one firmly on making sure nobody's glass or plate stays empty for long.
